SAHA names new Chief Legal Officer

After 10 years in Houston, a San Antonio native is returning home to take on SAHA’s legal needs.

Timothy Alcott joined SAHA on October 17 as the agency’s Chief Legal Officer. He’ll serve as SAHA’s primary legal advisor in all operational areas, including housing programs, construction and property acquisition, procurement, employment law, and public information.

“I wanted to move back to San Antonio and stay involved in real estate and construction law for the best city in Texas,” Alcott said. “I was also interested in working in the public sector. SAHA is a perfect fit because we help people with housing needs, and I have the opportunity to stay involved in the areas I’m most interested in.”

Before joining the SAHA team, Alcott practiced law in Houston where he focused on representing general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners in matters involving construction and real property disputes. In addition to his litigation experience, Alcott also has extensive experience in preparing, negotiating and reviewing contracts, and regulatory and employment matters.

Alcott received a bachelor of business accounting degree from St. Mary’s University, and a juris doctorate degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and is affiliated with the U.S. District Court in the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth District, the Greater Houston Builders Association, and the Houston Construction Law Association.
