Clark Pointe development moves forward

SAHA’s plans for improving the quality of affordable housing in San Antonio takes a big step forward with work already underway in the construction of a new multi-family apartment complex.
Clark Pointe Apartments is a planned 252-unit apartment complex at the intersection of Roland and Rigsby avenues, adjacent to SAHA’s Highview Apartments. When complete, SAHA will have the option of acquiring 20 percent of the units for use as public housing, pending approval by SAHA’s Board of Commissioners and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The project will ultimately create a vibrant, affordable community to replace Highview, a 68-unit SAHA-owned property. Highview is one of San Antonio’s oldest public housing developments and is targeted for demolition. Wide-open vistas coupled with modern design will give our residents vastly improved homes while allowing them to remain in a familiar and comfortable neighborhood.
Southwest Housing Corporation is the project’s main construction contractor, and was chosen because of the construction quality and lifestyle amenities they provide residents.
The San Antonio Housing Facility Corporation, a SAHA affiliate, owns the land and will be the sole general partner in the development. SAHA will monitor construction of the project, funding expenditures, property maintenance and day-to-day operations.
In July, the City of San Antonio City Council approved issuance of $14 million in bonds to assist in construction of the Clark Pointe Apartments.
