The proposed revitalization plan for the 28.5 acre site calls for demolition of the 242 Public Housing units and its re-construction in three phases. The proposed redevelopment will transform the site that formerly housed only very low-income families into a new, vibrant, mixed-income, mixed-use community. Phase I & II of the project will consist of residential units while Phase III is being reserved for a commercial component.
Additionally, the property will feature a new clubhouse for all residents complete with a business center, fitness center, laundry facility, swimming pool and resident services. Green space has been planned to promote community and will include playgrounds and recreational space. The site will also include limited access gates with on site courtesy patrols.
The project is 17% complete as of February 8, 2010. Estimated completion date is late December 2010.
