    SAHA RECEIVES PERFECT AUDIT FROM INSPECTOR GENERAL
    The Office of Inspector General (OIG) recently completed a review of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) funds awarded to the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA). The audit concludes that SAHA complied with all of the Recovery Act requirements regarding the obligation and expenditure of funds.

    SAHA ADOPTS PRESERVATION AND EXPANSION POLICY
   Housing is often a catalyst for economic development and community vibrancy. The Affordable Housing Preservation & Expansion Policy, adopted by SAHA’s Board of Commissioners in May 2011, establishes SAHA’s principles, priorities and strategies for construction, maintenance, rehabilitation, and disposition of housing assets. The policy includes criteria and guidelines for affordable housing preservation and expansion activities.

     ELDERY AND DISABLED GET “COOL”
    Late last year, Steve Saldaña, President and CEO of Catholic Charities, contacted the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA), to report that Carrier, a leading heating and air-conditioning firm, wanted to donate A/C units to SAHA’s public housing residents. As a result, SAHA received almost 300 A/C units and immediately began working on an implementation schedule.
