SAHA Pay Under Review

Salary structures and pay scales are part of a planned top-to-bottom review of all SAHA pay and benefits.

Scheduled to begin this summer, the review is part of an ongoing plan to streamline agency operations and pull benefits and compensation in line with job descriptions and actual duties SAHA employees perform.

“No one is going to see a pay cut because of something we discover in the review,” said Diana Gutierrez, SAHA’s director of Human Resources. “We expect we’ll get the information we need to create a pay banding system that’s equitable to all employees and hopefully streamline our pay system.”

The pay structure review was prompted in part by the business practices review launched shortly after President and CEO Henry A. Alvarez III joined the agency. Henry determined a salary review was necessary after some employees expressed concern over the current system.

“This salary study is evidence that the concerns of SAHA’s employees are SAHA’s concerns,” Diana said. “Henry has made it clear: If you have a problem, don’t sit quietly and do nothing. Talk to your supervisors. If you use your chain of command, we learn what your concerns are and we can do something about them.”

SAHA is soliciting bids from companies interested in conducting the review. Once a contractor is selected, the agency will launch the survey with a goal of having all information analyzed by the end of the year.
