Peaceful Coexistence

Conflicts, disagreements, or misunderstandings between workers and supervisors, or among co-workers, can cripple an organization’s effectiveness. The Human Resource department’s Employee Relations function can help resolve conflict in the workplace.

Employee Relations acts as a kind of mediator for employees at the peer and management levels. If you have a concern or question, please contact HR, and the Employee Relations staff – Gerald Avila and Becky Ponce – will research the problem and find an answer for the employee.

When communications between employees are strained, Employee Relations acts as an arbitrator and provides a non-confrontational forum to find a resolution.

The Employee Relations function also: makes referrals for employee assistance programs; offers policy and procedures guidance; handles affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and employee issues; and has overall responsibility for all SAHA employment opportunities.

To contact Employee Relations, call Becky Ponce at 477-6119.
